Contour plan preparation of desired area using Google earth and QGIS software

 Contour Plans as PDF or as AutoCAD drawings

Software required:-

        1) QGIS

        2) Google Earth Pro

        3) AutoCAD   .....(If output need to be edited in AutoCAD)

Step 1:- Open Google earth pro

Step 2:- Go to desired Location

        Just by entering Co-ordinates if known or by using Name of that area.

here I am searching using Name as its much easier to search and the by using mouse you can go to exact location where you want.

Step 3:-Draw Lines having as much points as you can using Add path tool on area for which you need contour plan, save place as KMZ file 

Step 4:-Go to GPSvisualiser.com, to generate DEM database from the KMZ file, Choose the KMZ file, keep the output format as Plain Text and press "convert and add elevation" button.

Step 5:- Download Plain Text file

Step 6 :- Start QGIS software and in Project Tab click on "New"

Step 7:- Goto "Layer" tab --> Add Layer --> Add Delimitated Text Layer --> Select downloaded text file.

select parameters as shown in below pictures

Click on "Add" button

Result in QGIS will look like this

Step 8:- Go to Processing toolbar, Processing --> Toolbox --> Type Natural Neighbor in search box and select from list

Step 9:- Click on "Natural Neighbour and fill values as shown below

Note:- in actual i have used cell size = 0.0005

Step 10:- After completion of step 9 close "Natural neighbour", then go to Raster Tab --> Extraction ---> Contour , Interval can be selected as per extent of area and user requirement.

Result will be similar like this

Step 11:- Right click on contours name in layer window on left side, Go to Propereties --> in Labels select ELE (whatever you have given name)
